Dr. Lenarduzzi earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Texas A&M University in 1972. He was in private practice from then until 1996 when he came to Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. From 1996 to 1998 he worked on a Master of Veterinary Science degree and from 1998 to 2006 Dr. Lenarduzzi taught clinical medicine at the MSU CVM Animal Health Center. While at the university, Dr. Lenarduzzi served on the Curriculum Committee and the Admissions Committee for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He was Chief of the Primary Care Service of the Animal Health Center and course leader for the "Special Species" course. He saw small animals, avian and exotic species and wildlife. Dr. Lenarduzzi left the university in October of 2006 to open Village Animal Hospital in Clayton Village on Highway 182 East.

 

 

Dr. Karen Emerson is a small animal, avian, exotic and wildlife medicine practitioner at Village Animal Hospital. Dr. Emerson is originally from Hattiesburg; Ms she has been at Village Animal Hospital since 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science at Mississippi State University in 2002. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Emerson studied and practiced Avian and Exotic medicine at LSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She also teaches avian and exotic wet labs at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. She lives in West Point, MS with her beautiful 19-month-old little girl Haley and her husband Terry. She also has two dogs named Louie and Isabella along with "Bart" a 19 year old Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, a 6 year old Quaker Parrot named Winston, and three leopard geckos along with three sugar Gliders, horses and cattle.
